Are there many foreclosures in the Mendocino area?

You'd think with all the press about foreclosures, there would be plenty of them to be found in Mendocino. But the truth is, our area so far has a much lower incidence of foreclosures than most of California and the U.S.

Although there are more REOs for sale now than over the past 10 to 15 years, they are still a small segment of the inventory of homes for sale. Many more homes are listed as short sales than foreclosures at this time, but the number of short sale listings is also much lower in the greater Mendocino area than most people expect.
